Hello! Do you have trouble growing Drosera? Well, we have you covered. We have experience growing all kinds of these plants. We will tell you how to grow Drosera plants by providing them with proper substrate, lighting, and water.
South African Drosera make good beginner plants for Drosera growers. Most of them are highly tolerant of a variety of conditions and can easily be grown as house plants in many cases. To grow these successfully, one needs only to provide adequate light and moisture. Your substrate may be any of the following mixes: 50/50 peat/sand, 100% peat, 100% long-fibered sphagnum moss, or even water beads! I recommend the 50/50 peat/sand mix for most beginners. The water beads are something I have had success with, but would not recommend for most growers.
Petiolaris Drosera or Sundews require different conditions than normal, but as long as you can keep them warm, they will be happy with adequate light and moisture. I grew mine as houseplants in Florida, but in Chicago I had to keep them in a fish tank so they could enjoy 80F+ temperatures during the day. Their lighting and substrate conditions are the same as the South African Drosera.
South American Drosera are my favorites. I love growing these and you will too once you get the hang of them. I have grown them as houseplants, but I recommend a grow rack for most growers. These also do best in long-fibered-sphagnum, but they will tolerate a standard 50/50 peat/sand mixture as their substrate as well. Keep them moist, give them plenty of light, and they will be happy.
